The Abarbanel poses the following question:
During the Seder the son asks four questions, but where does he ever receive his answer?
He explains: The main question that the son is asking is regarding the seeming contradiction on Pesach night. On one hand, we act like a slave by eating Matzah and Maror. At the same time however, we exhibit opulence, making sure to eat on couches like the custom of the rich and to dip numerous times, exhibiting wealth. The son is thus bothered by this. Which one is it? For what reason do we seem to operate on both sides of the spectrum?
On this query comes the answer that we were slaves and now we are free men…..
