Once, the Ba-al Shem Tov, showed to his students, the image of an individual partaking of the Shabbos meal. Though the man was dressed in special Shabbos clothing, his face took on the appearance of an ox.
The Ba-al Shem Tov explained this curious vision as follows:
This man was not only eating meat, he was completely engrossed in it. Since his entire desire at that moment was for mean, he too turned into an ox.
This teaches us, that an individual who connects himself to something becomes the actual thing that he desires[1].
Just as with the negative, that we are transformed to what we connect to, when we truthfully think about G-dliness, we too become G-dly.
