The Ba-al Shem tov once explained the famous aphorism that says, “With truth, one is able to traverse the entire world.”
He elaborated as follows:
“When one arrives at a place and speaks the truth, he is immediately shunned, forced to pack his bags and leave. When he reaches a new destination and again says the truth, he is again obligated to find a new home. Eventually, a person who utters the truth traverses the whole world.”
