Once, chassidim came to the Alter Rebbe, Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, complaining about the difficult monetary situation that they found themselves in.[1]
The Rebbe told them:
“The receptacles for livelihood are love and comradery. When there will not be jealousy, gossip or libel there will be income.”
The proof for this is as follows:
“When the Kohanim recite the priestly blessing, they exclaim “to bless His nation, Israel, with love.” When there is love amongst Israel, G-d will inevitably bless us.”
