What’s it Worth?

Once, the first Chabad Rebbe, Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, said to a young man in a private audience:[1]

“What is the worth of all your Torah and G-dly service? You have yet to bring light to another individual!”

The lesson is obvious: While surely we must work on ourselves we must realize that the litmus test that we are affected by G-dliness is when we influence our fellow as well.
