Once, when Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka, the wife of the 3rd Lubavitcher Rebbe, was sitting in her room, she suddenly heard a loud thump coming from her husband’s room.[1]
When she rushed into the room, she found her husband lying on the floor.
When she asked her husband about the reason for the commotion, he responded:
“Grandfather—the Alter Rebbe—was here!”
“Nu”—responded the rebbetzin—“is this a reason to make such a tumult?!”
The Rebbe responded:
“When a soul of the world of truth encounters a soul that is still in this world, one needs to enclothe itself in more corporeal garments and the other must remove its corporeal garments.”
