The Mishna in Avot (5:5) states in describing the miracles that occurred in the Temple: “They stood crowded but had ample space in which to prostrate themselves.”
On this, Reb Mendel of Kotzk explained:[1]
“Such is the way life works. When we stand up straight with conceit and haughtiness, we feel tense and constrained. However, when we bend ourselves with humility and find what we have to be sufficient, then we feel expanses – at ease that we have all that we need.
