The third Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Lubavitch, had a chossid who was particularly wealthy.
When chassidim would journey to Lubavitch and pass through his town, he and his family would provide them with food and drink.
He was wont to say to these chassidim:
“Because of what the Rebbe affected for me in heaven, ninety nine percent of all that I have, in truth belongs to the chassidim and only one percent is for me. Eat and drink my friends, for you are eating the blessing of the Rebbe and the presents of G-d!
