The Hagadah says that were it not for Hashem freeing us from us Mitzrayim we would still be there today. Now, this begs to question wouldn’t it be possible that we would somehow become free even without Hashem freeing us?
The Brisker Rov answers this, that the entire purpose of the exodus from Egypt was that instead of us remaining slaves of pharaoh and corporeality, we became servants to the Holy One blessed be He. Even, if at some point of history the actual slavery would have ended, but we would remained confined to that state of existence, servants of pharaoh on not servants of Hashem!
