The famed Chassidic mentor, Reb Mendel Futerfas, once repeated an aphorism that he had heard from the fifth Lubavitcher Rebbe:[1]
“It is conceivable for a person to merely consume dry bread—but for his own pleasure. It is as well possible to consume a roasted hen—but for the sake of Heaven.”
Concerning the physical, what is important is not what you do per-say, but how you do it.
