Good but not Enough

The previous Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, once said:[1]

“A Chassidic adage is definitely a good thing and a Chassidic story is definitely necessary. However, it is not in the power of either of these things to take the place of the study of Chassidus—of an actual understanding of G-dliness.”
