Shalom Aleichem or Lech Leshalom

Once, the Previous Lubavitcher Rebbe bemoaned the state of current affairs:[1]

“It used to be that truth was a natural tendency. A person was truthful and warm, and his greeting of “shalom Aleichem” was sincere and truthful with inner vitality.”

“Today, it is felt in an individual’s “shalom Aleichem” the persons true intent of “lech leshalom,” that the person dismisses him.
