Between a Chassid and a Misnaged

Once, an individual requested from Reb Mendel of Kotzk that he explain the difference between a chassid and a misnaged:

Reb Mendel explained:[1]

“A chassid fears the Holy One, blessed be He, but a misnaged fears the shulchan aruch.”
