The holy chassid, Reb Hillel of Paritch, was wont to say:[1]
“While I don’t love a fool, a person who is not overly smart is closer to the truth.”
Often, intellectuals overcomplicate matters; they hide their foolishness in obtuse language and intellectual gymnastics. In truth though, the simplest answer is often the most correct.
